How do deskless workers access surveys?

Deskless and hourly workers often don't have company email addresses or regular access to internal systems, so OrgAcuity supports two purpose-built access methods to reach this population.

Workers enter their Employee ID and date of birth to access their survey. This is the most common approach for non-exempt workers because Employee ID is usually part of their daily routine — it's how most hourly employees clock in.

This pairing also protects data integrity. Using a visible identifier like a name or email address would allow someone else to take a survey on another person's behalf. Employee ID + DOB ensures access is limited to the individual without requiring information that isn't easily accessible.

Best for: Organizations where employees know their Employee ID and survey administrators want a low-friction, self-service experience.

Option 2: Unique Access Codes

If employees don't know their Employee ID, survey administrators can download a file of unique, one-time access codes directly from the OrgAcuity platform — one per employee. Workers use their individual code to access their survey.

This method works well as a fallback, but does require an extra distribution step: someone needs to look up and deliver each code to the right employee in order for them to take the survey.

Best for: Populations where Employee IDs aren't readily known, or as a contingency when Option 1 isn't feasible.

Which Should You Choose?

Employee ID + DOB is the preferred option for most organizations. It's self-service, consistent with how other listening platforms handle this population, and requires no manual distribution effort. Unique access codes are a reliable backup when needed.
